Eric started his career in New York agriculture in 1990, working for the member-owned cooperative Agway. He spent a number of years gaining knowledge in the fertilizer and chemical markets while managing multiple retail locations. After becoming a Certified Crop Advisor through the American Society of Agronomy, he made the decision in 1999 to start an independent crop consulting business servicing the northern counties of New York State. With the help of Mike Contessa, Champlain Valley Agronomics was born.
After a few years, the business expanded to service customers from Albany County up through St. Lawrence County. CVA has continued to expand services and offerings from crop production and environmental planning to Precision Planting and Harvest International dealerships, as well as other services that bring value to a diverse and growing portfolio of clients. Eric is greatly involved in the crop production side of the business, as it is his true passion. He is also a certified Nutrient Management planner through the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets.
